After read some references on the internet, one at
HERE. interisting look for me, how can I play on high settings DT2 if i dont have the Tegra 4 device? so i begin to experiment with my Tablet Ainol Aurora that only have a single core Mali 400 GPU.
This is my experience of playing a Dead Trigger 2 (DT2) from Madfinger in Ainol Aurora Tablet with processor ARM Cortex Allwinner A10 1 GHz (single-core) and GPU Mali 400 (single core or known as Mali 400MP). usable 814 MB RAM, Android 4.0.3 ICS stock ROM.
in default, DT2 graphics setting for Mali 400 is very low, and this is to change the graphics settings to high (my DT2 is 0.02.2 version):
using Root Browser apps, locate and open the "data" folder ---> Data ---> com.madfingergames.deadtrigger2 ---> shared_prefs ---> com.madfingergames.deadtrigger2.xml
open and edit with a text editor:
Change <int name = "UnityGraphicsQuality" value = "0" /> to <int name = "UnityGraphicsQuality" value = "3" />.
Change <int name = "OptionsGraphicDetail" value = "0" /> to <int name = "OptionsGraphicDetail" value = "2" />.
information value:
0 = very low
1 = low
2 = high
3 = very high
In my experience, if i use this max settings (very high) on my Tablet Mali 400
<int name = "UnityGraphicsQuality" value = "3" />.
<int name = "OptionsGraphicDetail" value = "3" />.
The game is very lags and graphics not rendered properly (lot of graphical glitches), so I lowered the OptionsGraphicDetail value to "2" and maybe its optimum and best setting for Mali 400MP (single core):
<int name = "UnityGraphicsQuality" value = "3" />.
<int name = "OptionsGraphicDetail" value = "2" />.
I use the tablet Ainol Aurora, to overcome crashes and black screen that previously existed, then I use the application Chainfire 3D v3.3. Be carefull! Chainfire maybe not compatible with your device, use at your own risk. read the explanation on Chainfire3D page at Play Store. how to set chainfire for play DT2 on Ainol Aurora Mali 400? OK, lets check this:
check reduce texture quality, check disable Mapbuffer emu, use PowerVR plugin.
this setting may cause some app not working properly, can generate messy or wrong image graphics rendering. eg: Opera Mobile, ES File Explorer, etc.
you can change Chainfire settings back to default if not using for gaming.
DT2 high setting works like a charms in my tablet, even in Africa mission maps. i can notice the different, i can see the effect of surface water, shadows, sun flares, reflection, is working fine. on high setting in Mali 400 not all effects can appear, eg: water drop effect in screen. you can see the Tegra 4 have more effect in Youtube.
my conclusion: Trigger Dead 2 have potenntial in high graphics settings even if played with single-core tablet and single core medium GPU. only just set the settings with best value as i described above.
I use an application N0-frills CPU Control to overclock the processor of 1 GHz to 1.05 GHz.
